Wedding Trends for 2024

Watching wedding trends come and go throughout my time in the wedding industry has been so fun to observe. Just like any popular movement, trends can generate controversial opinions! I’m not immune to developing preferences: there have been trends that I am a huge fan of and others that aren’t my favorite.

Personal thoughts aside, as an event planner it’s my goal to prioritize the couple’s vision and bring their ideas to life. When that includes a popular trend, my team and I work together to execute it in a way that will still be timeless and classic. You should be able to look back at your wedding photos in the years to come and adore every aspect of your big day as much as you did when you were living it.

Keeping that in mind, let’s chat about some wedding predictions that have recently become popular and will continue to gain momentum through 2024.

Intimate Celebrations

Maybe the most common wedding trend over the last few years has been an emphasis on smaller, more intimate weddings. In these kinds of celebrations, the focus is more on the couple and their unique love story. Regardless of the size of your wedding, our team is dedicated to making sure that you are the most important part of your big day.

Casual Wedding Party Responsibilities

In the past, members of the wedding party have been front and center during the festivities. We’re probably going to continue to see a more casual approach to wedding party responsibilities this year. An example of this is bridesmaids and groomsmen sitting in the crowd instead of standing beside the bride and groom during the ceremony.

Color Palettes

Color is arguably the most temporary wedding trend because popular shades change so quickly. And that’s okay! When you’re choosing a color palette, my best advice is to go with something that makes you happy. Personally, we are big fans of color and love designing weddings that incorporate bold and bright hues. At the end of the day, you can’t go wrong when you trust your gut.

Wedding Weekends

One trend that has popped up more recently is organizing an entire weekend of wedding festivities. From rehearsal dinners to planned daytime activities and pre-ceremony brunch, wedding weekends allow the bride and groom to spend quality time with their guests in a more relaxed way. Whether you’re planning on one day or four, we are always happy to design each event.

Sustainable Weddings

As environmental awareness increases, more and more couples opt for eco-friendly weddings. This can mean choosing recyclable materials in their decorations, shopping locally for food and menu items, or incorporating secondhand purchases. If sustainability is important to you, there are endless ways to include that in your wedding planning.

Trends come and go, and they’re so fun to chat about and incorporate into the weddings we plan. At the end of the day, your wedding should reflect your unique interests and personality. If that includes a popular style, then great! The truth of the matter is that your big day doesn’t need to follow a certain trend to be beautiful and special.
